Week 22Monday 25th May 2009 We went on a big walk to go to the beach on Lake Titicaca. In the afternoon we went down 500 steps to come back to Puno by boat.
Tuesday 26th May 2009 We took the bus to go to Cuzco. On the way we stopped at a museum where we saw statues and a beautiful church witha lot of gold and paintings. We saw an Inca temple.
Wednesday 27th May 2009 We walked around Cuzco. We visited the magnificent cathedral with an audioguide. There were lots of gold alters and beautiful paintings. Around the city there are spectacular Inca walls, big stones perfectly joined together.
Thursday 28th May 2009 We went on an excursion in the Scared Valley. We stopped at a market then we asked the driver to change the tyre. Then we visited Pisac and Ollantaytambo. They were pretty.
Friday 29th May 2009 We visited a site where we saw huge circular Inca terraces. Next we went to Las Salinas to see the magnificent salt basins. We walked along the basins and tasted the salt. We found big clumps of salt. Later we took the train to Aguas Calientes to go to Machu Picchu tomorrow.
Saturday 30th May 2009 We walked up Wayna Picchu to get a good view of Machu Picchu. It was very pretty, but it was a bit hard! Then we walked around Machu Picchu and we saw the guardhouse, the tower, the fountains and the Temple of the Condor. Afterwards we went to the hot springs.
Sunday 31st May 2009 We visited the Machu Picchu museum and the botanic gardens in Aguas Calientes, before catching the train back to Ollantaytambo. We took a taxi back to Cuzco and went to Peruvian dance show. I really enjoyed it!
