Week 21Monday 18th May 2009 We took the bus to go to Nazca. We went to book a flight. Then we went to the museum: we saw mummies and old pottery.
Tuesday 19th May 2009 We took a little plane to the Nazca lines: huge drawings in the desert measuring between 100 and 300 metres long. There was a monkey, a whale, an astronaut, a condor, a parrot, a heron bird, a tree, a dog and a humming bird! In the afternoon we saw mummies and bones at a Nazcan cemetery.
Wednesday 20th May 2009 Yesterday we took the night bus to go to Arequipa. Today we walked around the city and visited the cathedral and teh Santa Catalina monastery. It was huge and very different to our houses.
Thursday 21st May 2009 We went on an excursion for two days. We saw lamas and alpacas and vicunas. Then we saw rabbits with long tails. Afterwards we bathed in hot springs.
Friday 22nd May 2009 We woke up at 5 o'clock in the morning to see the condors: very big birds. We didn't see many to begin with, but thankfully we were patient. We saw a group of 20-30 condors that flew very close to us. Their wingspan measured 3 metres!
Saturday 23rd May 2009 We nearly lost our camera but it was still in yesterday's bus. Then the guide gave it back. Then we went to the bus station to take Cruz del Sur to go to Puno. Then we saw two churches and ate icecream!
Sunday 24th May 2009 We took the boat to go to the Ouros islands and to go to Taquile on lake Titicaca. In the afternoon we had a boy called Edgar as a guide. In the evening we played wih the children of the house where we slept. It was very cold, so I slept with my fleece and socks on!
