Round the world itinerary

Our primary means of travel is by plane, with a round the world (RTW) airline ticket. We will complement this with some internal flights, plus trips on trains, buses and taxis.

We will travel to 5 continents or regions (Europe, Asia, Australia, South America and finally North America). We will cross the equator twice and the International Date Line once!

Our aim was to visit as many of the wonders of the world during our trip that we haven't seen to date, whilst carefully selecting countries on our itinerary, considering we're travelling with young children.

Here some of the antique, mythical or outstanding natural sites that structured our itinerary:
Jordan - Petra and the Dead Sea
Thailand - Temples at Chiang Mai and Islands such as Koh Phiphi
Cambodia - Angkor
Australia - Ayers Rock and the Barrier Reef
French Polynesia - Island of Bora Bora and the Touamotus Islands
Easter Island - Moai statues
Peru - Machu Picchu, the Nazca Lines and Lake Titicaca
U.S. - National Parks including Yosemite, Death Valley, Grand Canyon, Bryce Canyon, Arches and Monument Valley

Here's a high level overview of our flights:
Geneva -> Amman: 31 December
Amman -> Bangkok: 8 January
Bangkok -> Sydney: 6-7 February
Cairns -> Alice Springs: 2 April
Ayers Rock -> Sydney: 7 April
Sydney -> Noumea: 9 April
Noumea -> Papette: 24-23 April (Yes, we arrive before we leave, thanks to the date line !!)
Papette -> Easter Island: 11 May
Easter Island -> Santiago de Chili -> Lima: 14 May
Cuzco -> Lima: 1 June
Lima -> Los Angeles -> San Fransico: 2 June
Phoenix -> London -> Geneva: 23-24 June

Of course, that's the big plan. Only time will tell if we manage to stick to it !!!
