Week 20Monday 11th May 2009 We only slept four hours in the plane [to Easter Island]. We saw big statues called Moais! Then we saw caves. We went in the caves.
Tuesday 12th May 2009 We slept too late so we had to rush to go on a guided tour of the island. We saw moais lying on the ground. Then we saw the volcano where they carved the moais: there were 400 statues waiting to be transported. We also saw the biggest moai, 20 metres long but it was not finished. Then we swam in the sea!
Wednesday 13th May 2009 We saw a cave with old paintings. Then we saw the site of the birdman: there was a beautiful volcano and rock carvings. Then we went on a 2 hour walk: we saw cows, little caves and one moai! There was a big mouth carved in the rock.
Friday 15th May 2009 Yesterday we flew to Peru. We were in the plane all day and arrived at midnight. Today we went to a travel agent's. Then we went to try and buy train tickets at a shopping mall. We spent all day organising our stay in Peru...
Saturday 16th May 2009 We took a taxi to go to the gold museum: we saw some mummies and gold masks. Then we took the bus to go to Paracas . We watched Superman in the bus.
Sunday 17th May 2009 We went on an excursion to see seals and penguins. We saw a lot of them! We went on another excursion: we saw a lot of dunes and fossilised sea shells in the desert.
